Dry Needling

Dry Needling is a technique used by our practitioners to facilitate treatment of soft tissues. The technique involves inserting a small needling into a patient’s muscle similar to those used in acupuncture. The needle is targeted at a trigger point which is an unusually tight muscle area. The mechanism involves a release of chemicals in the brain and muscle which facilitate muscle relaxation which can then allow increased blood flow and oxygenation of the tissues. It is most effective when used in combination other treatment techniques including massage, joint mobilisation and functional stretching.

To book an appointment book a normal Osteopathy or Myotherapy appointment with our practitioners and they will incorporate these techniques if you are suitable.
